exciting contemporary romanceMeg Sugarbaker has no idea how a chef at Atlanta's exclusive Renaud became a sex expert writing about gadgets for the Emagazine Foreplay when she cannot get a date. When Nick and Meg meet in the hotel sparks fly. However, as they fall in love and he becomes her "boy toy" testing devices, he knows he will have to somehow reveal the truth about his sibling, but hopes that he does not have to choose between his beloved and his loved ones.
JUST TOYING AROUND is an exciting contemporary romance starring two delectable lead characters whose antics are fun, eminently refined when they employ sex gadgetry. Ron is a loser and his blackmailing Nick to do his bidding seems a stretch to accept especially since readers will see just how ethical one is and how sleazy the other is. Still fans will enjoy JUST TOYING AROUND, but should be forewarned that these are professional charcaters trained to use the gadgets so test the toys on him (not yourself) first in case you obtain one manufactured by Ron.

Sex, sex and more sex!!This novel was the one that introduced me to Harlequin's Blaze series and, boy, am I glad I found it! Although, slightly predictable (as most straight romance novels are) Just Toying Around employs seduction, blatant sexual conversation and tender romance to entertain the reader and leave him or her wondering about how they can re-enact some of the scenes in their own love life!
HOT!HOT!HOT!

GREAT for following along in sermons at church......which makes this Bible great for following along in preaching to see at a glance if your Baptist pastor is teaching something new or contrary to traditional Baptist doctrine. Of course, final judgement is reserved for personal inductive study of the matter, but I remember at least one time this Bible brought out facts clearly enough during a sermon to where I knew for a fact the pastor was wrong- and unfortunately based his whole sermon on it.
I give this Bible 4 stars because, of course, the conservative traditional Baptist doctrine in the notes is strongly pre-trib, to the point where other views are not given enough space, IMHO.

Carole Nelson Douglas' Irene Adler stories are a romp!
Must-read for Sherlockians; fun Victorian mystery for othersMy main criticism is that it's a little heavy-handed on the name- dropping side; Irene is acquainted with scads of famous historical personages. This actually makes it harder to suspend disbelief and accept that both Holmes and Irene were historical personages, as the book attempts to convey. Well worth reading, more than once for some.
Other books in the series (in order; this is the fourth):
Good Night, Mr. Holmes;
Good Morning, Irene;

Couldn't put the book down!

Interesting, theological
A really terrific book
Giving voice to a complex worldNelson describes Jo's world: "Happiness was a kind of badge at Calvary; it was not only nice to be happy, it was right. It was a sign that things were as they should be on the inside. But while in such an atmosphere unhappiness was frequently viewed with judgment or shame, it's only fair to add the obvious: a school cannot be held accountable for the inward state of every student. Some things will happen wherever you are, and that is where Jo was, at that school, in that city."
And so we enter the world Jo Fuller. Nelson paints a wonderful picture of Calvary's masked nature juxtaposed to the terrifying, offensive reality of the city around her. Her friends at school deny that reality, equating such a place with the "world" of the New Testament, just as Jo and her family desperately want to deny any thought that her brother, declared MIA, might have been killed by the war. Jo is brought face-to-face with this problematic world in the encounters with roommates, obsessive boys, hardhearted professors and administrators, drunks, even the Bible itself. This beautiful and honest novel brought me in touch with a swamp of reality that I might have ignored, while being neck-deep in myself. It opened me to questions that my own closed mind had previously shunned. If you wish to wrestle with the complexities of a rapantly common Christian culture in North America, please, for your own sake and the sake of those around you, read this book.

Dealing with racial issues in children and schoolsThe night before they go to sleep before their first day of school, Billie(Meg's brother) and Meg are both warned about how they might not be welcomed at their new school. Neither really understand what their parents are talking about until they go into school the next day. They quickly realize that almost all the children are white and they are not welcome to play baseball because they are black. They do not let this small bump get into their way of playing baseball and doing well in school. It is a story that proves it does not matter what color you are, you can accomplish whatever you want if you put your mind to it. I would definately recommend this book for classroom use!!

HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO
I would also encourge people considering this book to take a look at Gettysburg: A Battlefield Guide by Mark Grimsley. (ISBN 0803270771) In my opinion the Grimsley book is a bit clearer on some of the more confusing parts of the battle - the fighting in the Wheatfield for example.
All things considered both books are quite good.
